Sourcing and supply

On a marketplace you see a seller’s storefront, not a workshop. The difference shows up at the first claim.

We arrange supplier sourcing in China and other markets for a specific technical task. Offers are compared by configuration, documents and terms so the decision rests on clear criteria. Verification of the counterparty found is a separate step, described in the audit section.

What it solves

  • The offer came from a trading company when a plant is needed.
  • Prices differ threefold and it is unclear what each one includes.
  • The sample was acceptable but the production batch differs from it.
  • Correspondence continues while each side reads the technical brief differently.

What we supply

  • Manufacturer search and requests for quotation
  • Comparison of offers in a single format
  • Specification and configuration alignment
  • Arranging samples and a trial batch

Input data we work with

  • A technical brief or specification
  • Batch volume and delivery location
  • Required documents and project constraints

How selection works

  • We word the technical brief so that it cannot be read two ways.
  • We request offers in a single format: configuration, documents, terms.
  • We compare line by line, not by the bottom figure.
  • Sample, trial batch and the route to series production are agreed separately.

Pre-shipment checks

  • The offer is checked against the technical brief line by line.
  • What the price includes is checked: packaging, tests, documents.
  • Sample and trial batch are compared against the agreed specification.

Documents

  • Technical brief or specification in Russian and English
  • A comparison table of the offers
  • Supply contract with a Russian legal entity

Risks we remove

  • An intermediary presents itself as the manufacturer: removed by verifying the counterparty before prepayment.
  • The series diverges from the sample: removed by fixing the sample parameters in the specification.
  • Different readings of the brief: removed by a bilingual specification.

Who it suits

  • Plants moving from unavailable brands to direct supply
  • Procurement that needs to compare offers on substance
  • Design departments with a make-to-print task

What to send for a quote

  • A description of the task or a specification
  • Volume and expected purchasing frequency
  • Documentation requirements

Questions and answers

Offers differ threefold. Why?
Most often because they contain different things: a different configuration, material, tests, packaging, document scope and delivery terms. Until the offers are brought to one format, comparing bottom figures is meaningless. Bringing them to one format is exactly what we do.
Can we order a sample first?
As a rule yes, and for a new item that is the sensible order. What matters is recording in advance which sample parameters are the benchmark for the series: without that the next batch may differ while formally keeping to the contract. The cost and lead time of a sample depend on the item and the plant.
How is this different from searching a marketplace?
The offer is verified rather than taken on trust. A large share of attractive offers come from trading companies without production of their own: they add margin and lose control over quality. Verification of the manufacturer is a separate capability for us.

Send us the task — we come back with options

A drawing, a photo of the assembly, a nameplate, a part number or a description of what has to work. We review the inputs, ask what is missing and show the available options with price, lead time and differences.
